The SPACE*Lab - MISSION TO MARS | The Game

MISSION TO MARS | The Game

The board game Mission to Mars was realised in collaboration with The Paper Lab and co-designed with +70 teachers around Europe.

During the game piloting events in 6 European countries – Italy, Spain, Germany, Slovenia, Greece and Cyprus – the project involved more than 400 primary school students in a dynamic and flexible STEM experience based on the simulation of a space mission to Mars. In a playful dimension, the classes were able to experience first-hand what kind of challenges astronauts face during a space trip and how to cope with any unforeseen events.

The aim is to stimulate their curiosity about space careers and to show how science is open to all and everyone, with a creative and inclusive approach even in language.
In the downloadable kit in 7 languages, you will find more than 20 creative methodologies provided for the development of soft skills in an inclusive environment and knowledge about the latest research concerning the exploration of the Cosmos.

The SPACE*Lab Online Training Course

The SPACE*Lab Online Training Course is a 10 hours class for Primary School Teachers. It’s composed of a first theoretical part available for downloading (STEAM session Day 1 + Handout) – that you can study by yourself – and a second practical part (STEAM session Day 2) – in which you’ll be trained by a tutor in a blended appointment (online and offline).

The course will give you a certificate of attendance, if you download all the materials by March 31 and follow the second part.

By downloading, you’re automatically giving the consent to sign up to the class and you’ll be contacted by Consorzio Kairos with the link to follow the STEAM Session Day 2.

At the end of all the sessions, you’ll be involved in a co-design workshop about how to develop and use an educational board game about a Space Mission to Mars.
